Improved parking brake lever
Hi,
After a break of several years (due to personal reasons) I am back flying the MCR01. And again I am tempted to improve some of the "less than ideal" technical solutions. Although it is just a detail, for me one of the most annoying things was the parking brake mechanism at the manual brake. It looks horrible and is a "pain in the a.." to install. So I tried to improve it with a 3D-printed part - and it works. It looks like this:
You just need different (longer) screws and the springs have to be modified slightly (just a little bending with pliers).
If anyone is interested I am happy to share the STEP file and take a few more pictures to show how it is installed.

Hello MCRider,
It looks very good !
It would be interesting to see more details, especially the modifications of the springs.

Here ist the STEP file
Printing is straightforward, there are no support structures required. I used a Bambu Lab X1C and ASA filament.
More details will follow soon...

Re: Improved parking brake lever
This is one of my little projects to learn 3D modelling, otherwise I would not put much work into this...
Since I am currently far away from my MCR and can't take pictures I just tried to add the spring and the screw (M5x25) to the 3D model. This is what the complete assembly looks like:
The spring in the tensioned state (springs on left and right are identical):
A model of a moving spring is beyond my current capabilities - maybe even beyond those of Fusion 360. So here is just a sketch of what the spring looks before assembly:

I have already posted a link to the 3D model (STEP format) in a previous message. Please let me know if there are any problems downloading or importing the data…
